Walnut Lot # 5 Naturally Dyed River Yarn
Walnut Lot # 5 Naturally Dyed River Yarn
We do a lot of dye pots with walnuts with our friends from The Farmhouse Project, all harvested right from their property. The results differ each year, creating various shades of brown, therefore each batch is numbered. If you combine them, you can create a rich ombre selection of color for a larger project. Walnut is a featured dye plant from our Catskill Dye Note Cards, available in our web-shop; each card comes with a link for the plant’s natural dye recipe.
River, one of our featured rustic yarns, is mill spun Border Leicester wool from Carpe Dream Acres, Susquehanna County, PA. A longwool breed known for its versatility and crimp, it can be used both for clothing as well as household textiles.
Two ply DK Weight
250yds
100grams/3.5 oz
100% Border Leicester Wool
Origin: Susquehanna County PA
Suggested Needle Size: US# 5 - 7 (3.75 - 4.5 mm)
Care: Hand wash with a Ph neutral soap, lay flat to dry, store out of direct sunlight. With natural dyed yarn, variations in color and some vegetable matter are normal.
